Why DATRON
DATRON AG builds some of the world’s fastest high-speed machining centres — optimized for aluminium, plastics, and composite materials. Their machines operate at spindle speeds up to 60,000 RPM. That demands toolpaths of a different quality than conventional machining.
This is exactly the kind of demanding context we want autonomIQ to excel in.
The pilot scope
Over eight weeks, we are running autonomIQ on a defined set of DATRON customer parts:
- Aluminium panels with complex pocket structures
- Composite bracket components requiring adaptive feed strategies
- Thin-wall geometries where vibration control is critical
For each part, autonomIQ generates a complete machining plan. DATRON’s application engineers review, adjust, and execute it on their NEO line. We measure deviation from expert-generated programs in cycle time, surface quality, and tool wear.
Early results
We are two weeks in. We cannot share numbers yet — but we are on track with the success criteria we agreed on.
Stay tuned for the full results in Q1 2026.
